Active against Gram-negative bacteria E. coli D31 (MIC 10-20 uM) and weakly active against yeast C. glabrata ATCC 2001; C. albicans clinical isolate (this ref). Also active against MRSA USA300 (MIC 3.1 uM) (Menousek J et al 2012 Int J Antimicrob Agents 39:402). The predicted secondary structures of the lycotoxins display amphipathic alpha-helix. This peptide also inhibits Escherichia coli ATP synthase (Azim et al., 2016). Updated 5/2015; 3/2016.
