Additional info:

MOA: It targets DNA of HIV (Nucleic Acids Res 2006; 34: 5157-65). 3D structures of the peptide bound to SDS or DPC micelles were solved by solution NMR (see Rosek A et al. 2000. Biochemistry 39: 15765). Antimicrobial activity still remains with with P to A substitution. For CP-11, see Antimicrob Agents Chemother. 1997 Apr;41(4):771-5. The sequence of MBI 226 is RGGLCYCRGRFCVCVGR and it has activity against bacteria and fungi. This peptide showed synergistic effect with protegrin-1 against P. aeruginosa and E. coli (Yan H & Hancock REW 2001 Antimicrob Agents Chemother 45: 1558-60).
